Art and Culture

St Michaels Hotel - art in our heart

St Michaels Hotel has a close link to art in Cornwall, with many stunning photographs and paintings throughout the public areas. Cornwall is a natural home to inspiration, art and ideas. Art is everywhere in Cornwall, and so much of it is inspired by the sea and the coastline. Apart from London there is nowhere else in the UK that has more working artists. It is the quality of light that has attracted artists here since the beginning of the 19th Century. The legacy of the Newlyn School and its passion for painting has survived in the profusion of galleries, studios and exhibitions throughout the county, with groups and individual artists working in all styles and mediums to create truly inspiration and beautiful pieces of art.  Falmouth itself is strewn with art galleries and you will surely find a beautiful piece of Cornwall to take back with you.
